Built native. Built private.

Cloud converters monetize your patience. We built the opposite — a fast, local-first tool that respects your data and your time.

Video essays → offline audiobooks

Switch to Audio mode and extract MP3 or M4A from courses, podcasts, and long-form YouTube content. Perfect for commutes, gym sessions, and flights — without burning mobile data on streaming.

Your links never touch our servers

Because Vedo is a native application, every URL you paste and every byte you download stays on your machine. We don't operate cloud proxies — so there's nothing to leak, log, or sell.

Client-side extraction engine

Optimized direct-stream pipelines, extraction runs over your own internet connection. No shared IP pools, no rate-limit roulette.

Gallery with video & audio players

Every download lands in a chronological gallery with Video/Audio badges, thumbnails or album art, file size, and duration. Play video fullscreen or stream audio in the background while you browse.

Reveal in Finder / Explorer

Desktop users can jump straight to the file on disk. Mobile builds save to app storage with the same gallery experience.

Pro browser extension

Chrome/Edge extension adds a Vedo button on video pages and sends the URL to your desktop app. Download with your Pro license — see the Extension section.

Custom web & course links

Beyond social platforms: news networks, streaming sites, educational portals, and raw HTML5 MP4/M3U8 URLs are all in scope.

Trusted by creators who own their workflow

I archive B-roll from dozens of news sites weekly. Finally a tool that doesn't upload my client URLs to random servers. The gallery alone replaced three browser bookmarks.

Send any video to Vedo in one click

The Vedo browser extension (Chrome & Edge) adds a button on web players. Pro and Team license required — no Chrome Web Store fee required; install from our zip.

Install Vedo desktop

Download the native app for your OS (free with ads, or Pro for unlimited).

Add the Pro extension

Pro & Team users get a Chrome/Edge extension zip from the site — load unpacked in one minute.

Click Vedo on any video

A floating button appears on supported pages. One click sends the URL to your desktop app.

Free tier uses copy-paste in the desktop app. Extension unlocks one-click send from YouTube, courses, news sites, and more.

Frequently asked questions

Do you upload my URLs to a server?
No. Extraction and downloading happen entirely on your device using your internet connection. We do not operate cloud proxy infrastructure.
Which sites are supported?
Thousands — via yt-dlp rules covering social platforms, news, courses, streaming sites, and direct MP4/M3U8 links. See the supported sites grid above.
Is this legal?
You are responsible for complying with copyright law and each platform's terms of service. We provide software; you decide what content you have rights to download.
macOS says “developer cannot be verified” — how do I open Vedo?
Our macOS builds are not notarized yet (that requires a paid Apple Developer account). After installing from the .dmg: open Applications, right-click Vedo → Open → confirm Open. You only need to do this once. You can also use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Double-clicking the app the first time will keep showing the error.
Android says “App not installed” — what should I try?
Install the .apk only, not the .aab file. Uninstall any previous Vedo test build, then try again. Enable “Install unknown apps” for your browser or file manager. If you installed an older CI build, the signing key may have changed — uninstall first. Download the newest release after our CI publishes a fresh APK.
Windows says “administrator has set policies…” — can I still install?
On personal PCs, try the -setup.exe from our download page (not the .msi). Unsigned builds may show SmartScreen — click “More info” → “Run anyway.” School/work PCs with strict IT policy may block any unsigned app until you code-sign (paid cert) or IT allows the file. We don’t charge for signing; many home users install fine without a certificate.
How do Pro users get the browser extension?
After purchasing Pro or Team, open vedo.com/extension (or the Extension section on the home page), enter your UMD- license key, and download the zip. Load it in Chrome/Edge via Developer mode → Load unpacked. The extension uses the same license as the desktop app.
